Projected climate variability of internal waves in the Andaman Sea

چکیده
Abstract The Andaman Sea, in the northeast Indian Ocean, is renowned for large-amplitude internal waves. Here, we use a global climate model (CanESM5) to investigate long-term variability of waves Sea under range shared socioeconomic pathway (SSP) scenarios. SSPs are future societal development pathways related emissions and land We project that mean values depth-averaged stratification will increase by approximately 6% (SSP1-2.6), 7% (SSP2-4.5), 12% (SSP5-8.5) between 1871-1900 2081-2100. Simulating changes tides present (2015-2024) end-century (2091-2100), find enhance tide generation 4 8%. propagation into Bay Bengal 8 18% 19%, respectively, different SSP Such warming have implications primary production ecosystem health not only but also Bengal.

Oblique nonlinear interaction of internal solitary-like waves in the Andaman Sea
Oblique nonlinear interaction of two incident solitary waves, or soliton resonance, is important because it can produce a third solitary wave that has an amplitude up to 4 times the incident wave amplitude. Although this process is well studied for surface waves and in other fields of physics such as plasma, it has not been well studied for internal solitary-like waves (ISWs) in the ocean. In t...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Differential Impact of Monsoon and Large Amplitude Internal Waves on Coral Reef Development in the Andaman Sea
The Andaman Sea and other macrotidal semi-enclosed tropical seas feature large amplitude internal waves (LAIW). Although LAIW induce strong fluctuations i.e. of temperature, pH, and nutrients, their influence on reef development is so far unknown. A better-known source of disturbance is the monsoon affecting corals due to turbulent mixing and sedimentation. Because in the Andaman Sea both, LAIW...
متن کاملNonlinear internal waves in the South China Sea: Observation of the conversion of depression internal waves to elevation internal waves
[1] The conversion of depression nonlinear internal solitons to elevation internal waves has been observed twice at the South China Sea continental shelf break. Shipboard X-band radar, tow-yo CTD, ADCP and high frequency acoustic flow visualization of the process are presented. The data focuses on up slope propagation of depression internal solitons from a water depth of 264 m to a water depth ...

Coral reefs are facing rapidly changing environments, but implications for reef ecosystem functioning and important services, such as productivity, are difficult to predict. Comparative investigations on coral reefs that are naturally exposed to differing environmental settings can provide essential information in this context. One prevalent phenomenon regularly introducing alterations in water...
